When Clark turned 14, he found out he wasn't just adopted; he was an intergalactic traveller from the now-exploded planet, Krypton. Thanks to Jonathan Kent's pragmatic steadiness and Martha Kent's effusive love, he learned to use his powers responsibly. His relationship with his biological heritage remains somewhat rocky; the Kryptonian AI representing his biological father never stops being tactless and pushy (in Clark's opinion). But both sets of parents contributed to his decision to become Superman. His wife, Lois, is his touchstone. He doesn't know what he'd do if she wasn't around to give him a quick kick in the pants then, in the next minute, kiss it all better. His son, Conner, is another gift of fate. He's also glad to have met a group of friends who share his values and accept him no matter what his background. Heroing and reporting make him feel fullfilled; a far cry from his childhood dreams of football and farming. |
